Commissioned by the Contemporary Arts Society for Wales, Edward Povey made the stone lithograph, AUGUST, on the understanding that the Arts Society had elected to give prints to every major art museum collection in Wales. The painting on which the lithograph was based still exists in the artist's collection, and is titled MAKING CHOICES.
